This makes the colours stand out on the black watercolour paper as pastels. Crayons: The porous dry pastels, the soft and greasy oil pastels or the hard wax crayons, etc. are used directly on the watercolour paper, where the light colours will naturally give the greatest effect on the black background. Remember to fix the dry pastel at the end with Fixativ.
